I think there is a great book out there that everyone who approaches the philosophical ideas in math should read. After reading, "Where Mathematics Comes from" By George Lakoff and Rafael Nunez, I am convinced that all mathematics is based at the axiomatic level in metaphor. So for someone to say they write poetry like math with no metaphor makes no sense to me.

Mathematics is also a branch of science. It is used to calculate values with different methods. In the past, the calculation of the values ??with different things. In the above calculation method is too difficult, but due to the progress of science we can now calculate too large valleys with in a second.

I was just yesterday reading "She may count three little daisies very well" as I was mining The Stanzas for a snippet to contribute to a writing exercise I'm doing in Inspired by Gertrude Stein workshop. That is quite a puzzle she presents but it left me thinking that unless I have someone like JoAnne Growney in my workshop, this might frustrate the average writer. I do love the way she plays with one and zero in her so-called kids' book TO DO but I don't own a copy and didn't have time to chase that one down. Gtrde definitely is a mathematician's writer!

Children have such different reactions to disfigurement than adults -- curiosity, fear, acceptance. I really like the way you weave fascination and fright into a poem that is ultimately to me about the unconditional love we feel for our elders. So much trust lies in their hands and we as children take the journeys they call us to.
